In view of severe erosion in islands, Administration requested Ministry of Water Resources to suggest low cost schemes to prevent sea erosion.
Method :-
The method of Anti
sea erosion work was suggested by a Technical Team constituted by Ministry of
Water Resources under their Office Memorandum No.1/1/85-FC dated 6.1.1986 under
the leadership of Mr.Gadre, Chief Research Officer, CWPRS, Pune. The General
pattern is laying of 0.50 MT Cement
concrete Tetrapods back filled either with Cement concrete hollow blocks / sand
filled Latex coir bags /Granite Boulders.
In some places sand filled latex coir bags alone is laid.
